Description of registry

BipoläR works for better follow-up and treatment of bipolar affective disorder. The objective of BipoläR is to create conditions for organisational development, evaluation and research on e.g. long-term effects of medication.

Population

The registry is intended to include all patients with bipolar disorder who have made a visit to an outpatient care unit.

All ages.

Volume of registry

Two types of registrations are done in the registry: new registrations and follow-ups. Detailed information on the volume of the registry can be found in the annual reports at the registry website.

Coverage rate

Approximately 30 % of bipolar disorder patients in the Swedish population have been registered in the quality register BipoläR.
