The purpose of the National Quality Registry for Forensic Psychiatry (RättspsyK) is to provide data for improvements and clinical research in order to give the patients safe and reliable care. The registry contains both statistical data, such as the type of crime the patient committed that led to the court-ordered care, as well as variable data such as self-assessments of the patient, which are performed at least once a year.
All patients handed over by the courts to forensic psychiatric care are registered.
From the age of criminal responsibility.
In 2018 the registry monitored approximately 1 782 patients.
According to the National Board of Health and Welfare, the coverage rate for patients was 86 percent in 2018. At the clinic level, the coverage rate is 100 percent.
