The purpose of the Swedish Intensive Care Registry is to, without personal gain, manage a National Quality Registry for Intensive Care in Sweden in order to monitor and improve the quality of Swedish intensive care in selected continuously monitored areas. The Swedish Intensive Care Registry will also promote the development of methods and research in the area of intensive care, primarily in epidemiology, but also in other targeted areas in which the participation of many centres is necessary for conducing high-quality scientific studies.

78 of 84 clinics were members in 2014 (75 sent data). 78 of 84 clinics were members in 2015 (77 sent data).
Intensive care is not included in the patient registry, and an external coverage rate analysis can thus not be conducted.
