SOReg was started in 2007 with the aims of registering surgical procedures for obesity in terms of volumes, methods, etc.; influencing outcome as complications, quality of life, risk factors and co-morbidity; and providing data for research.
Patients who have undergone surgical interventions for obesity.
All ages.
Approximately 75 000 patients.
2019: 4 700.
Between 2007-2019, the registry has 80-90 percent of patients, and between 2010-2017 the registry has 98 % of patients who underwent bariatric surgery in Sweden.
During the same time period the Swedish patient registry had 70-80 % of patients undergoing bariatric surgery.
The registry regularly performs random comparisons between the registry data and patient records, see annual report at Registry website.
