SQRTPA, the Scandinavian Quality Registry for Thyroid, Parathyroid and Adrenal Surgery, is a national quality registry for thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery. The registry aims to:
The registry was established in 2004 and is supported by the National Board of Health and Welfare, the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions, Region Skåne, the Swedish Society of Endocrine Surgery, and the Swedish Association for Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. The steering committee consists of representatives from the Swedish Society of Endocrine Surgery and the Swedish Association for Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. The registry is also used by clinics in Denmark. SQRTPA is an intervention registry for thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery.
The registry has a good coverage rate of over 90 percent. At present, the registry contains over 15,000 thyroid operations, 6000 parathyroid operations and about 500 adrenal operations. A number of research projects using data from SQRTPA are being conducted and are reported on the website.
SQRTPA is an intervention registry and the registry includes all patients who have undergone thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery regardless of diagnosis.

13,975 thyroid surgeries and 6113 parathyroid surgeries were registered during the 2004-2011 period.
Adrenal surgery registration began in 2009 and 500 operations have now been registered.
